Job summary

The Town of Summerville seeks a Stormwater Compliance Technician to support the Stormwater Management Program. You will perform field inspections, compliance monitoring, and enforcement, ensuring erosion and sediment control regulations are met for Town, State, and Federal requirements.

Responsibilities include reporting with photos, updating the inspection database, and coordinating with the Engineering Department during development projects. Strong communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, landscape architecture, construction management, or related field.
• Two years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes inspections on commercial, residential and development projects with reports and photos to ensure compliance.
• Inspects permanent stormwater controls like BMPs to verify design and maintenance.
• Issues enforcement for violations of stormwater regulations including IDDE.
• Maintains inspection/enforcement records and prepares notices of violation.
• Coordinates with Engineering during construction/close-out of developments.
• Communicates stormwater code requirements to developers, contractors, and the public.
