The City of Suffolk, Virginia is seeking a paraprofessional engineering technician to support the Public Works Stormwater Management Program. You will conduct field inspections, prepare reports, and assist in enforcing ordinances while interacting with developers, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications include a science degree with 2+ years in water utilities or surveying, a valid driver's license, and an Inspector Certification to be obtained within 12 months.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field, and at least 2 years of experience in science, water and sewer utilities, surveying or related field.
• Requires a valid driver's license.
• DEQ Erosion and Stormwater Inspector Certification to be acquired within 12 months of hire.
• A Virginia Boater's License may also be required.

Responsabilidades

• Conducts field inspections of stormwater management facilities and develops inspection reports.
• Investigates illicit discharges and coordinates with other departments to resolve issues.
• Screens stormwater outfalls and prepares related reports.
• Performs field sampling and monitors stormwater runoff.
