Job summary

Prescott’s Med is seeking a Sterilizer Repair Technician to provide hands-on, field-based service on industrial washing, sterilization, and surgical equipment. You will troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair devices such as autoclaves and washers, working with hospitals and research facilities to ensure equipment safety and performance.

This role requires a mechanical/electrical background, 1+ year of relevant repair experience, and frequent travel (60–90%).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• 1–3 years of directly related field service or technical maintenance experience; or 3–5 years of hands‑on experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience repairing Getinge (CASTLE) and/or Steris (AMSCO) washing, sterilization and surgical equipment
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel frequently (60–90%) to customer sites
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude; knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Proficiency with computers and Windows-based software applications
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, refurbish industrial washing, sterilization, and surgical equipment and system components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment from multiple manufacturers.
• Service devices including autoclaves, rack washers, tunnel washers, bottle fillers, bedding dispensers, and more.
• Installations and equipment modifications as required.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and inventory records.
• Deliver a superior customer experience through proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Plan and manage service schedules to ensure timely response and completion.
• Provide on-site training or demonstrations to customers on proper use and maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, service contracts, or replacements.
• Utilize CRM and service reporting software to submit reports within 24 hours of completion.
