Job description

Flexible / Raleigh, NC Engineering & Operations Contract Senior
About the Role

Work directly with operators, public safety teams, government users, and partners to turn operational needs into deployed DartFrog solutions. This role owns the path from discovery to field outcome: understand the environment, shape the solution, build demonstrations and prototypes, integrate hardware and software, support pilots and deployments, train users, and carry what we learn back to the product teams. This is not a slide‑only presales role and it is not the primary platform‑development role. The right person is comfortable moving from a customer conversation to a terminal, lab bench, device rack, vehicle, or field exercise. Near‑term work is expected to begin as a scoped, part‑time or project‑based contract engagement. A full‑time role may open in roughly 6–12 months as funding and program demand mature.

Requirements
  • Experience translating end‑user needs into practical demonstrations, integrations, deployments, or operational workflows
  • Comfort working across networking, Linux, containers, mobile devices, hardware, and field environments
  • Strong communication with both technical teams and mission users
  • Ability to troubleshoot under real constraints and leave behind a supportable solution
  • Respect for security, reliability, performance, and disconnected or bandwidth‑constrained environments
  • Willingness to travel or work on site when a project requires it
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with public safety, defense, or government deployments; TAK, geospatial systems, EUDs and device management, edge hardware, identity and certificates, secure enclaves, or disconnected operations. Experience leading demonstrations, pilots, exercises, operator training, or deployment handoffs is especially useful.

Benefits
  • Paid, scoped work on real end‑user problems
  • Direct influence on product design, integrations, and deployment patterns
  • The opportunity to work across software, hardware, infrastructure, and field operations
  • Flexible work structure based on the engagement and mission need
  • A possible path to a full‑time role as programs, funding, and demand mature
