Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Solid Waste Engineering Intern for our Waste Management Practice in Pittsburgh, PA. The role blends fieldwork with some office tasks, focusing on landfill and transfer Station projects, CQA monitoring, and data collection.

You will work with a mentor, gain hands-on experience, and interact with clients and contractors while developing professional skills and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Must be fit for duty to perform field activities in inclement weather/heat.
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects.
• Ability to work flexible hours and have an awareness for safety.
• Local candidates preferred.
• AutoCAD experience a plus.
• Prior internship and/or design experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support field activities at solid waste landfill and transfer station projects.
• Assist with Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) tasks and monitoring.
• Document field data and assist with tabulation of laboratory and field test data.
• Assist with stormwater management and landfill gas collection system design tasks.
• Communicate with CEC office and field staff, clients, and contractors.
