Job summary

ASM in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Field Software Engineer I to bring semiconductor equipment to life by supporting software that drives robotics and control systems. You will work with global engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, refine specs, and ensure reliable performance in manufacturing environments.

You will triage issues across tool environments, participate in system design reviews, define feature specifications with customers, and help deploy software upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE plus 3 years of experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in C++, C#, or Python; ability to read code and debug

Responsibilities

• Support software design engineers in developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software for ASM semiconductor equipment
• Triage mechanical, electrical, and software issues across complex tool environments
• Lead customer escalation calls with field support engineers and customers
• Collaborate with QA and Support teams to incorporate replicated bugs into regression testing
• Define feature specifications with customers and contribute to bug fixes or small enhancements
• Author, review, and update system specs, software designs, test plans, and related docs
