Job summary

National General is seeking an experienced SIU Investigator to join our field-based team supporting Auto, Homeowners, and Specialty Lines within a three-hour radius of Chicago, IL. The role involves conducting complex fraud investigations, background searches, statements, site inspections, and surveillance as needed.

You will guide less senior staff, document findings in claim systems, and use analytic tools to identify suspect claims.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex fraud investigations.
• Background in SIU preferred.
• Strong analytical and evidence gathering skills.

Responsibilities

• Enters SIU claim data information into multiple SIU systems.
• Reviews investigations with fraud outcomes to validate denial.
• Updates files with investigation outcome and returns file to MCO if no fraud or insufficient evidence.
• Conducts complex online data searches, research, and evaluation.
• Conducts site inspections, including body shops, medical clinics, loss locations, etc.
• Performs thorough investigations to determine if payment is warranted, including scene investigations and surveillance as needed.
• Validates information obtained through investigation and follows up on leads.
• Summarizes documents and enters notes in the claim system with evaluations and decisions.
• Uses analytic tools or SIU field intelligence to identify complex claims for investigation.
• Researches and responds to complex customer communications and issues.
