Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks an engineering technician to support field installation, start-up, and commissioning of large-scale cooling systems for data center facilities. The role involves hands-on work with electrical, control, and mechanical systems and frequent collaboration with customers, design teams, and manufacturing engineers.

You will interpret blueprints, install refrigeration components, and diagnose issues in mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of cooling/refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of electricity and electrical/control systems.
• Experience with start up and commissioning at customer facilities.
• Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and work from heights.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints, drawings and specs.
• Install and commission refrigeration or HVAC components at field sites.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC/refrigeration systems.
• Travel to customer locations; interface with field and manufacturing teams.
• Communicate technical issues to stakeholders and customers.
