Job summary

ALS is seeking a professional Receptionist to join our team in Newtown, CT. You will answer calls, take messages, greet visitors, route inquiries, and support mail and document processing for the project management department.

You will review chain of custodies, scan data, and assist with daily office tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have strong communication, are organized, and proficient with Excel and Word.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer/client interaction skills in a professional setting.
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication.
  • Ability to use Excel, Word and other relevant software.
  • Multi-tasking, organized, detail oriented with good time management.
  • High school education or equivalent, with 2+ years in an office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and transfer to the appropriate person.
  • Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate person/department.
  • Folding, stuffing and mailing reports and other mailings.
  • Typing, filing, faxing, copying and scanning documents.
  • Review chain of custodies for accuracy and filing in order.

Our global team turns up each day with passion and commitment to do amazing things, always challenging our thinking to find ways to solve some of the world’s most complex problems for a safer, healthier world.About the role:General Accountability:The primary purpose of this position is to answer incoming calls, take messages, receive and deliver mail, mail out reports, return coolers, review chain of custodies for accuracy, scan data/documents and assist the project management department.About you:Answer incoming calls and transfer to the appropriate person or take a messageGreet and direct visitors to the appropriate person/department.Folding, stuffing and mailing reports, marketing information or other mailingsTyping, filing, faxing, copying and scanning of documents.Process incoming and outgoing mail.Returning coolers via Fed exReviewing chain of custodies (COCs) for accuracy and filing in numerical order.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Strong Customer/Client interaction skills and experienced in client contact.Proficient English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with staff, management and clients in a professional manner.Strong computer skills with knowledge in Excel, Microsoft Word, and other industry specific software.Multi-tasked, organized, detail oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving capabilities; will have good time management capabilities.High school education or equivalent.Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in an office environment or similar positionPhysical Demands:The ability to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management, and clients.Ability to sit and/or stand for 100% of an 8-hour day.Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer and other equipment.Average vision and ability to see to read reports and operate equipment.Working at ALS:Our people are our most valuable asset and drive our success at ALS.
