Job summary

ALS is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to accurately input customer data from labels and forms into our laboratory information management system. You will follow SOPs, load data with precision, and handle 200+ samples daily while coordinating with the lab for test packages and priority requests.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong computer skills, and the ability to work overtime in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years of laboratory data-entry experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office, LIMS, and online references.

Responsibilities

• Enter data received from customers into the laboratory information system.
• Follow guidelines for data loading and update as needed.
• Process 200+ samples daily and ensure correct tests are performed.
• Assist with sample handling, storage, and retrieval as required.
• Communicate changes to test packages and priority requests to the lab.

Our global team turns up each day with passion and commitment to do amazing things, always challenging our thinking to find ways to solve some of the world’s most complex problems for a safer, healthier world.About the role:The Data Entry Clerk will enter data sent from customers on labels and forms into our laboratory information management systems.Position Duties and Scope:The Data Entry Clerk 1 has the following duties:• Accurately enter data received from customers into company database.• Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.• Modify data periodically as prescribed by customers.• Follow instructions by supervisor.• Follow standard operating procedures.• Send "problem" samples to customer service for resolution.• Notify lab of changes to test packages, special testing requests, and/or priority testing (rush analysis).• Efficiently process 200+ samples daily.• Answer phones and assist customers as needed.• Correct samples that are logged incorrectly and work with lab to ensure correct tests are performed.• Receive, open and tray up all samples received each day.• Effectively research reminders generated by diagnosis and fix samples if needed.• Assist with storage and disposal of client samples.• Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.• Enter data received from customers accurately.• Follow departmental guidelines for all data loaded.• Modify data periodically as prescribed by guidelines.• Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:High school diploma/GED is required.0–3 years of laboratory experience is preferredMust have good computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, LIMS, and Internet based reference libraries.The ability to accurately enter 200+ samples daily by the end of our training period.The ability to learn all applicable Data Entry procedures.Attention to detail and good communication skills.High energy level, confidence and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.Ability to work overtime, evenings and weekends..Working at ALS:Our people are our most valuable asset and drive our success at ALS.
