Job summary

The City of Midwest City is seeking a Field Services Tech I in the Line Maintenance Department. This entry‑level role operates trucks, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, excavation equipment, and motorized rodder machinery to install, repair, and maintain city water and wastewater systems.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, valid Oklahoma driver’s license, minimum age 18, and the ability to obtain additional CDL and state certifications within one year.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license (insurable)
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Eligibility to reclass to a Line Maintenance Field Services Tech II upon obtaining the required CDL or both ODEQ certifications
  • Must obtain an OK Commercial Class "B" driver’s license with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement within one (1) year of hire
  • Must obtain ODEQ Class "D" water and wastewater certifications within one (1) year of hire

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, excavation equipment, and motorized rodder machinery
  • Use power and hand tools for the installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution, wastewater collection systems, and other public assets
  • Train in preparation for testing and obtaining an OK Commercial Class "B" driver’s license with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement
  • Obtain ODEQ Class "D" water and wastewater certifications
