Job summary

City of Midwest City is hiring an entry-level Field Services Tech I in the Line Maintenance department. The incumbent operates trucks, tractors, mowers, dump trucks, and excavation machinery, and maintains the City’s water distribution and wastewater systems with a variety of tools.

The role trains toward obtaining a CDL Class B with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement within one year, and ODEQ Class D certifications. Prior water/wastewater experience is preferred; safety screening applies.

Qualifications

  • Must possess high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver's license and be insurable.
  • Must obtain an OK Commercial Class "B" drivers license with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement within one (1) year of hire.
  • Must obtain ODEQ Class "D" water and wastewater certifications within one (1) year of hire.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous experience in the water and waste water field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment such as trucks, tractors and mowers, dump trucks, excavation equipment and motorized rodder machinery.
  • Maintain water distribution system and wastewater collection system and other public property.
  • This is an entry-level position as the incumbent trains to obtain OK CDL with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement and ODEQ certifications.
