Job summary

The City of Midwest City is hiring an entry-level Field Services Tech I in the Line Maintenance department. You will operate trucks and excavation equipment to install, repair and maintain water distribution and wastewater systems on City property.

Training toward a CDL and ODEQ certifications is provided, with a path to reclassification upon meeting required licenses and credentials. Required: high school diploma or GED, Oklahoma driver’s license, and willingness to obtain CDL (Class B) with

Qualifications

  • Must possess high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
  • Must obtain OK Commercial Class B CDL with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement within one year of hire.
  • Must obtain ODEQ Class D water and wastewater certifications within one year of hire.
  • Previous experience in water and wastewater field preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Position is safety/security sensitive; pre-employment and random drug testing may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, dump trucks and excavation machinery.
  • Perform installation, repair and maintenance of City water distribution and wastewater systems.
  • Use a variety of power and hand tools on public property.
  • Train for and obtain CDL and ODEQ certifications as required.
