Job summary

The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for Field Services Tech I in the Street Department. The incumbent operates equipment such as trucks, tractors and mowers and uses a variety of power and hand tools in maintaining City streets, culverts, right-of-way, storm sewers and other public property.

This is an entry-level position as the incumbent trains in preparation to test for and obtain an OK Commercial Class B license with Air Brakes endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience with street and mowing equipment, including tractor, mower, and backhoe is desired.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver's license and be insurable.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Position is safety/security sensitive and subject to pre-employment and random drug screening.
• Training to obtain OK Commercial Class "B" license with Air Brakes endorsement.

This is an entry-level position as the incumbent trains in preparation to test for and obtain an OK Commercial Class "B" license with Air Brakes endorsement. The incumbent is eligible to reclass to a Street Equipment Operator I upon receipt of this license. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Previous experience with street and mowing equipment, including tractor, mower, and backhoe is desired. Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver's license and be insurable. Must be at least 18 years old. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening. Starting Salary: $18.1494/HR. w/Benefits. EOE.
