Job summary

City of Midwest City is seeking an Equipment Operator I in the Street Department. The person will operate trucks, tractors and mowers and use a variety of tools to maintain City streets, culverts, rights‑of‑way, storm sewers and other public property.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (preferred), a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, insurance eligibility, and OK Commercial Class B with Air Brakes.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable.
• OK Commercial Class B with Air Brakes is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Safety/security sensitive position with screenings.

The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for Equipment Operator I in the Street Department. The incumbent operates equipment such as trucks, tractors and mowers and uses a variety of power and hand tools in maintaining City streets, culverts, right-of-way, storm sewers and other public property. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Previous experience with street and mowing equipment, including tractor, mower, and backhoe is desired. Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver's license and be insurable. Must have OK Commercial Class "B" w/Air Brakes. Must be at least 18 years old. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening. Starting Salary Range: $19.1080-$19.6621/HR. w/Benefits. EOE.
