Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Madison, PA seeks a Field Services Student Technician for our Steam Generator team. You’ll support nondestructive examination, tool prep, and routine cleaning services during outages, collaborating with experienced technicians and engineers on a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic tasks.

Based at the Waltz Mill facility, you’ll report to the Manager of Remote Delivery and Robotics.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student enrolled in a program.
• Ability to drive and be 18 years or older.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support inspection tooling for manual and robotic services.
• Prepare tools and equipment for outages.
• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, inspect, install and assemble basic equipment.
• Undergo site-specific training, radiation safety and rigging.
• Uphold safety, INPO, ALARA concepts and license requirements.
• Take initiative with tasks with minimal supervision.

Job description

As a Field Services Student Technician on our Steam Generator team in Madison, PA, you will support our Inspection Service Business, a nuclear industry leader in nondestructive examination. As a team member on the Inspection Services team, you will get to work on assignments to support manual and robotic inspections, as well as component cleaning services. We are a fast-paced environment so specific projects may vary.

You will report to the Manager of Remote Delivery and Robotics, and will be based out of our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with experienced technicians and engineers on inspection tooling for a variety of services.
• Detail oriented tool preparation to support teams deployed to outages.
• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, inspect, install, repair, and assemble basic equipment (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic).
• Site specific training, radiation safety, hazard communication and rigging.
• Demonstrate, understand and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements.
• Take initiative on assigned tasks with little oversight.
