Job summary

Wetalentia in Fairfield, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join its North American Service Team. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting complex automated pharmaceutical processing and packaging equipment at customer facilities, with travel to sites across North America during and after training.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience servicing automated industrial machinery in a field service environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred; B&R is a plus).
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
  • Experience servicing pharmaceutical processing or packaging equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ in regulated pharma environments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America during training.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize pharmaceutical processing and packaging equipment at customer facilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and machine performance evaluations.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-related issues independently.
  • Support equipment qualification and validation activities within regulated environments.
  • Provide technical support remotely and on-site to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering, technical support, and manufacturing teams in the US and Italy.
  • Attend technical training programs in the U.S. and internationally as required.
  • Prepare service reports, technical documentation, and customer visit summaries.
  • Shadow the Field Service Manager during onboarding to learn service planning and customer management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and future growth of NA service organization.
  • Provide emergency customer support, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for 24/7 operations.

Approximately 40% during the training period (United States, Canada & Puerto Rico), with travel expected to decrease as familiarity with customers and equipment increases.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join its growing North American Service Team.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex automated machinery, working directly with customers, and traveling to support equipment installations and service activities throughout North America.

During the onboarding period, the successful candidate will work closely with the current Field Service Manager, gaining exposure to customer management, service planning, and internal processes, with the opportunity to progressively take on broader responsibilities within the service organization.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
