Job summary

Balance Technology, Inc. (BTI) is seeking a Field Services Engineer to join our team in Whitmore Lake. The role is hands-on, testing machines at our facility before traveling to customer sites to install, startup, troubleshoot, and service new and rebuilt equipment.

Expect significant travel both domestically and internationally. Approximately six months of hands-on training will be provided at our Whitmore Lake facility to learn our equipment and systems before working independently in the

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with industrial machinery, automation, controls, electrical systems, or related field.
  • Technical degree, trade school, military training, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with industrial equipment.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Power on, test, and troubleshoot automation equipment at our facility.
  • Install and start up new and rebuilt equipment at customer facilities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls issues.
  • Work with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Work directly with customers during installation, startup, and service.
  • Assist with machine testing and commissioning before equipment ships.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites.

Job Overview

Balance Technology, Inc. (BTI) is looking for a Field Services Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on position working with custom industrial automation equipment. You will power on and test machines at our Whitmore Lake facility before traveling to customer locations to install, start up, troubleshoot, and service new and rebuilt equipment. This position involves significant domestic and international travel. Approximately six months of hands-on training is provided at our facility to help you learn our equipment and systems before working independently in the field.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
