Job summary

Talently in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Service Manager to lead field service operations for key semiconductor customers. You will build and drive a high-performing Field Service Engineer team, elevate equipment reliability, and enhance customer satisfaction while maintaining operational excellence in a customer-facing leadership role.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of semiconductor equipment field service experience.
  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Service Manager, Service Manager, or Service Operations Manager.
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment installation, maintenance, repair, upgrades, or commissioning.
  • Experience managing service resources, schedules, escalations, and KPIs.
  • Strong customer-facing communication, leadership, and relationship skills.
  • Technical troubleshooting in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Field Service Engineers supporting key semiconductor manufacturing customers.
  • Oversee equipment installation, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, commissioning, troubleshooting, and emergency service.
  • Manage FSE staffing, scheduling, workload distribution, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor service KPIs, including equipment uptime, response times, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage customer escalations and coordinate timely technical resolutions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Parts, Logistics, and global technical teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Develop and improve service processes, procedures, documentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and collaborate with Engineering on root-cause solutions.
  • Support service contracts, preventive maintenance programs, and aftermarket opportunities.
  • Ensure FSEs have the training, tools, and resources required to support customers effectively.
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide technical and operational leadership.
  • Provide hands-on field support and emergency FSE coverage when needed.

  • Experience managing service resources, schedules, escalations, and performance KPIs.
  • Strong customer-facing communication, leadership, and relationship-management skills.
  • Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Comfort working in semiconductor fabs and other highly controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Engineering, physics, chemistry, or another related technical degree.
  • Experience supporting major semiconductor manufacturers or fabs.
  • Experience managing a regional or national Field Service Engineer organization.
  • Experience with service contracts or preventive maintenance programs.
  • Experience working with Japanese headquarters or global technical teams.
