A leading supplier of automation for manufacturing is seeking an Associate Service Engineer to perform preventative maintenance on FANUC robots at customer sites. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing robots, providing customer support, and documenting equipment performance. The position involves up to 80% travel and requires candidates to have experience with FANUC robots and the ability to work independently. Competitive pay is offered in a contract role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with FANUC robot troubleshooting and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on robots at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain FANUC Robots and controllers.
• Provide telephone-based troubleshooting support to customers.
• Document performance and failure modes of FANUC products.
• Report daily status to Service Management.

$30.00/hr - $33.00/hr

Duration: 1 year contract - to - hire, guarantee to be brought on direct as long as successful in the role

Location: New Jersey

Will be working remotely from home unless on scheduled assignments. Scheduled assignments require travel within the East Coast region 80% of the time.

Travel: Up to 80% travel, 3-4 days overnight

Must Haves:

• Previous experience with FANUC robot troubleshooting and maintenance
• Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation
• Experience with preventative maintenance on robots or heavy machinery
• Able to work at customer sites with little direct supervision
• Comfortable with heavy travel, overtime work, and 2nd and 3rd shift when needed on assignments

Plusses:

• Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic a plus
• Associate’s Degree in an Applied Science or equivalent technical education preferred

Responsibilities:

Other job responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of FANUC Robots and controllers, electrical control devices, and peripheral equipment
• Provide telephone based troubleshooting through the Hotline to support customer issues
• Documenting FANUC products and related peripheral equipment performance and failure modes
• Daily reporting to Service Management to update status & availability
• Completion of a Service Report for each customer call
• Maintenance of a service tool kit to facilitate rapid customer response
