Job summary

Kokusai Semiconductor Equipment Corporation in Boise, ID is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to install, modify and upgrade Kokusai product lines at customer sites. You will verify tool operation after installation and act as the customer liaison on technical and administrative matters.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, and provide feedback to service, sales and support groups.

Qualifications

• A.A.S. or B.S in a directly applicable technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 2+ years semiconductor equipment service experience
• Strong diagnostic capability with documented troubleshooting approach
• Ability to communicate technical risks and solutions confidently

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer liaison with Japan and USA stakeholders on technical and logistic matters

• Cabling and wiring, signal flow, and mechanical/electrical adjustments
• Perform operation checks, interlock checks and full system checks
• Complete installation checklists and document results for QA submission

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Field Service Engineer (FSE) position in Boise, ID area.

Responsible for on-site installation, modification and upgrading of all KSEC product lines. Verifies tool operation after installation or modification. Serves as customer liaison with customer(s) on technical or administrative matters for assigned projects. Provides feedback to service, sales, and technical support groups on customer needs and/or requests. Has strong trouble shooting skills and responds as needed to customer sites for "On-Call" service work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Responsible for installation, performing onsite service and/or modification of Kokusai Semiconductor products onsite at customer locations including but not limited to parts check, machine move-in, hardware set-up/assembly and mechanical leveling
• Provides hands-on technical support at customer locations covering the operation of the equipment, as well as being responsible for the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities
• Excellent communication skills and serve as a liaison between the customer and various Kokusai stakeholders in Japan and the USA, on a variety of technical and logistic responsibilities
• Provides feedback to service, sales, and technical support groups on customers’ needs and requests
• Cabling and wiring - cable cut, termination, connection. Must have knowledge of signal flow in the machine
• Perform operation checks - power on, wafer and cassette teaching (must know the total flow procedure of installation, perform mechanical & electrical adjustment/alignment, mid-level troubleshooting ability)
• Perform interlock checks - all interlock checking (must have a good comprehension about all hardware/software interlocks)
• Performs total operation checks - vacuum leak check, gas system leak check, temperature check, gas hook up (must have good comprehension and ability to perform all items)
• Responsible for completing the Kokusai installation checklists and electronic tool install documentation resolving any out of specification measurements and submitting in a timely manner to Kokusai QA dept

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• A A.S. or B.S (or equivalent) in a directly applicable technical discipline or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years semiconductor equipment service experience
• Strong diagnostic capability with documented, systematic troubleshooting approach
• Deep understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance methodology
• Ability to communicate technical risks and solutions confidently
• Independent decision-making combined with disciplined escalation judgment
• Commitment to mentoring and elevating team capability

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. (Range $79.04K - $93.6K). In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
