Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Field Services Engineer to perform onsite troubleshooting and hands-on support at customer locations in New York. The role covers hardware and software issues, conferencing systems, printers, and user devices, with opportunities to assist during live events and collaborates with vendors for network/compute problems.

The position requires authorization to work in the US without sponsorship and offers a discretionary incentive program.

Qualifications

• Windows 10/11, Laptop/Desktop/MacOS/mobile device support.
• Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Printer & MFD support.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues onsite.
• Provide onsite support for technology, equipment and devices at customer locations; resolve service requests.
• Onsite service activities include MACDs; hardware changes, server/storage reboots, power cycles, post-deployment validation.
• Provide onsite escorts for third parties as needed.
• Update customer location surveys (rack elevations, current equipment).
• Support video rooms including endpoints and meeting room panels.
• Assist with live events and onsite activities with vendors for infrastructure support.
• Deskside support for user devices and software issues (driver issues, OS, network).
• Validate conferencing, telepresence and video conferencing suites are operational.
• Check networked printers and MFDs for errors.
• Coordinate onsite scheduling for onboarding new employees.

Job description

Role: Field Services Engineer

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in troubleshooting for both hardware and software issues;


• Perform general onsite, hands-on support for technology, Equipment, and/or Devices and supporting the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues and execution of Service Requests at Customer Locations


• MACDs; Hardware changes (e.g., hardware installation and testing upon configuration); Server/Storage reboots; Power cycles; Post-deployment validation of service functionality;


• Provide onsite escorts for Third Parties


• Customer Location survey updates (rack elevations, current equipment, etc.);


• Video room support including endpoints and meeting room panels;


• Assisting with live events as requested by Customer


• Activities requiring onsite support (e.g., helping to resolve Network and compute issues in collaboration with the vendor(s) providing infrastructure and network support).


• Perform deskside support as part of onsite troubleshooting and resolution activities to address issues with user equipment (e.g., User Devices, user software).


• Onsite troubleshooting of User Devices (e.g., address driver issues, hardware fault diagnosis, peripheral support, device provisioning follow-ups, OS issues, network access issues);


• Onsite troubleshooting of Software issues for Software included in the User Device configurations (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud);


• Validating that conferencing systems, telepresence systems, and video conferencing suites are operational


• Checking networked printers and MFDs for error messages


• Where required, address appointments scheduled requiring onsite support (e.g., new employee onboarding)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $62,000- $68,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
