The City of Wilmington is seeking a Field Service Technician to help keep stormwater systems flowing, roads safe, and public spaces reliable. You will assist with debris removal, use hand tools, and work with CCTV and Vac-Con helpers under regular supervision.
This role requires ability to perform manual tasks in all weather conditions, obtain Flagger & Work Zone Safety certification within 90 days, and drive a Class C vehicle. On-call rotations and outdoor duties are part of this position.

While on the job, you will be assisting with work activities, removing debris, and other related work as required. Equipment/tools primarily utilized includes, but is not limited to, the following: hand tools such as rakes, shovels, picks, hammers, hand saws, lopping shears, and trash pickers; CCTV Helpers and Vac-Con Helpers. Other duties include assisting crew members, maintaining small hand tools and equipment, and completing daily forms and logs. Work is performed under regular supervision.

Exerting 50-75 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly.

Health Benefits are offered to employees working at least 30 hours per week.
The City offers two options for health coverage: a standard PPO plan and a High Deductible Health Plan with an associated Health Savings Account. Coverage becomes effective the first day of the month following hire for employees and their eligible dependents. Both you and the City contribute to the overall cost of coverage.

The city pays to provide coverage valued at one times your annual salary. Supplemental insurance is available for employees to purchase. Optional coverage for dependents is also available for purchase.
Note: The City of Wilmington is on a bi-weekly pay cycle. New employees should expect to receive their first paycheck approximately 4 weeks after their start date.
