Responsibilities
- Manage fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing and quality assurance of various types of application equipment utilized in the refractory industry. Equipment types include material handling and application systems such as pneumatic conveyors, dry powder screw feed hoppers, robotics, automated systems, mixers, pumping devices, and combustion systems.
- Installation and setup of equipment ensuring it is properly configured and calibrated for its intended application.
- Troubleshoot when equipment malfunctions or experiences issues. Diagnose problems, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement solutions to return the equipment to working condition.
- Ensure that equipment delivers accurate and consistent results.
- Remain up‑to‑date with relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements in the refractories field.
- Maintain records of equipment maintenance, repair history, and any changes made to the equipment.
- Evaluate and implement equipment upgrades and optimizations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Track equipment inventory, order replacement parts, and manage procurement of new equipment.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect all users.
Qualifications
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical and pneumatic control circuits, AC and DC voltages.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of mechanical drive components.
- Strong mechanical and electrical machine assembly skills.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical/electrical drawings.
- Ability to identify, solve, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.
- Good communication skills and computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Candidate may be required to travel to customer accounts where equipment is located per sales or customer requests.
Education
Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technologies with 2+ years’ experience.
