Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance on water treatment systems at our Point Comfort plant, TX. You will diagnose, repair, install and maintain equipment including clarifiers, filtration, RO, and related controls, while upholding safety and preventative maintenance programs.

The role requires a strong mechanical/electrical background, the ability to read drawings, and willingness to work on-call work orders to ensure plant reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED/Home School Certification OR international equivalent 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment.
• Trade school or apprenticeship training in plumbing, carpentry, or mechanical repair is highly desirable.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record history
• Ability to gain and maintain access to sites as assigned
• Ability to read documents and implement safety rules and maintenance instructions
• Ability to perform physical acts such as lifting, climbing, and manual dexterity
• Must be certified within the first 90 days of employment in safe operation of forklift trucks

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
• Diagnose malfunctioning machinery and perform general repairs.
• Install new equipment and systems and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, pumps and instrumentation.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and safe operation of equipment.
