Job summary

Dorner Co, headquartered in Sussex, Wisconsin, seeks a Field Service Technician to install, service, and repair valves and valve automation equipment across Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

Join our customer support team and travel frequently while working with an experienced technician to learn products and procedures. You will be an ambassador for Dorner Co, delivering the best solutions to customers with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High mechanical aptitude.
• General knowledge of electrical circuitry.
• Valve repair/automation experience is a plus.
• Strong communications skills to clearly talk with customers.
• Be able to carry and lift tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 lb. without assistance.
• Be able to bend, squat, stand, reach, climb ladders, and work with your hands.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to schedule and prioritize duties.
• Be able to think on the fly in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to problem solve independently.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• High School Diploma.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be honest, respectful, have sound work ethics, and possess a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Travel 50%+ to sites in-state and Northern Illinois.
• Overnight travel may be required.
• Drive long distances to customer sites.
• On-site installation, setup, testing, maintenance and repairs.
• Home-shop work: equipment maintenance, warehouse automation, valve repair.
• Respond promptly to service calls and document activities.
• Prepare service call reports and track expenses.
• Communicate with customers and sales teams.
