Job summary

Calibration Technologies, Inc. (CTI) field service position requires independent travel to customer sites for start-up, calibration, installation, and repair of gas detection systems. Training plant personnel and preparing reports for PSM documentation are also required.

A typical week may include hotel stays and remote work as needed. Must be 21+, have a personal vehicle, and be able to fly and rent a car within the continental United States.

Qualifications

  • Understand electronic circuit and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, relay logic, and industrial control systems.
  • Experience using a digital multimeter and trouble shooting 120VAC and 24VDC circuits.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Acrobat PDF.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair gas detection systems and sensors.
  • Translate system operation scope and user functions to plant personnel.
  • Process reports for safety documentation to meet OSHA standards.
  • Contact manufacturers/distributors to maintain/calibrate equipment.
  • Determine best long-term repair method and translate solutions using CTI products.

Description
Summary

The Field Technician position will operate independently from CTI's main office, traveling to customers' locations for start-up, calibration, light installation, and/or repair a variety of gas detection systems. The Field Technician will also be responsible for training plant personnel on how to use the gas detection systems as well as preparing reports for PSM documentation. A typical work week may include three weeknights in a hotel, with the remainder of the week working at home, if needed.

Must be 21 years of age. Must have personal vehicle, reliable for travel. Mileage and per diem paid. Will use personal vehicle for work related travel. Must be able to fly and rent a car within the continental US.

Guaranteed 40 hours per week during standard work weeks. 80% travel during Monday-Friday.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Calibrate, trouble shoot and repair, gas detection systems and sensors.
  • Translate system operation scope and user functions of gas detection systems and sensors to plant personnel.
  • Process reports for safety documentation to meet OSHA standards.
  • Contact manufacturers and/or distributors of equipment to effectively and properly maintain/calibrate leak detection equipment and associated components.
  • Determine best long-term method for repair. Translate solutions using CTI products when possible.
Requirements
  • Understand electronic circuit and troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, relay logic, and industrial control systems.
  • Experience using a digital multimeter as well as trouble shooting 120VAC and 24VDC circuits to include wiring and relay logic.
  • Ability to exercise component and personal safety to maintain, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical components.
  • Strong understanding of AC and DC circuitry. Strong understanding of relay integration methods and functionality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments.
  • Ability to problem solve/gather information needed to complete jobs.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Acrobat PDF.

This position is labor-intensive and regularly requires the ability to climb a ladder while wearing a tool belt. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Starting pay range: $30-$35 hour. Overtime available and optional weekend work available with a bonus.
