Job summary

BMG is seeking a Field Service Technician for our Beaverton, Michigan site. The technician will handle installation, start-up, debugging, and training on all equipment, traveling to customer sites as needed.

The role requires hands-on repair, preventive maintenance, and on-site support with a focus on minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in installing and servicing capital equipment, understands PLC and servo systems, and is willing to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

Minimum of an Associate’s degree, 2 year trade school certification, or equivalent experience.
Prefer 3 years’ experience in industrial controls.
Understand & edit programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Servo Systems.
Willingness to travel frequently, at least 75% of the time.
Passport and driver’s license with ability to travel; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Accomplishes or assists in installation and start-up of equipment at customer plants as assigned.
Performs preventative maintenance on machines at customer plants as assigned.
Performs training on machines at customer plants as assigned.
Repairs or adjusts machines and verifies operation meets customer requirements before leaving site.
Informs Engineering and sales of issues or opportunities discovered on site.
Publicizes and promotes BMG products when opportunities arise.
