Job summary

SPATCO is seeking a service tech trainee in Houston for an entry level role designed to train you into a certified technician. You will learn routine maintenance and troubleshooting on customer equipment, with paid training, lodging and meals provided by the company.

You may travel locally for training and field work; after training, expect an on-call rotation and day-shift calls with overtime opportunities. Requires a clean driving record and ability to lift 50–75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid State Issued Driver’s License
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Pass a drug screen & background check
• Daily local travel
• Lifting 50-75 lbs

Responsibilities

• Complete petroleum service calls for our customers at various locations such as retail gas stations, commercial sites, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
• Complete all service call paperwork after each call
• Communicate with your service dispatcher and manager
• Explain technical issues in a non-technical manner to the customer
• Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units and POS systems (e.g., Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne, Gasboy, Bennett; VeriFone, Gilbarco, NCR)
• Install, program and test new petroleum equipment and perform scheduled maintenance to fueling systems
• Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and provide repairs as required
