Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $45.00/hr
Location: Baltimore, MD
This Field Service Technician – Sustainable Energy Systems will perform mechanical and/or electrical hands-on field service work on mtu Gas Engines, including but not limited to commissioning, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and minor overhaul work.
Essential Responsibilities
- Execute service on the engines in compliance with the maintenance protocol.
- Carry out minor repairs on the engine in addition to the planned service.
- Execute major service on the engine in cooperation with colleagues.
- Coordinate tasks with external suppliers who provide specialist duties.
- Monitor activities of the maintenance protocols.
- Analyze failures on the engines in the specialism of Mechanics, electronics, and associated software systems.
- Troubleshoot engines in the field of Electronics and mechanics.
- Create visit reports regarding the reason for visit, symptoms, actions taken, materials used, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure a basic set of spare parts are in the van and maintain a clean working environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team or independently.
- Process timesheets, expense reports, and job reports in a timely manner.
- Comply with policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 5-10 years of reciprocating engine experience preferred.
- Experience as a car mechanic, car electrician, or electrician.
- Mechanical Technician or higher.
- Occasional driving is required.
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, mainly in Maryland and Virginia markets.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability and willingness to work remotely, as required.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S is required.
- Ability to meet and maintain insurability standards to drive a company vehicle when needed.

Physical Requirements
Technician roles are physically demanding and require prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds (or more) may be required. Good vision to inspect repair work and effective communication are essential.
