Description:
As the Field Service Technician, you will perform and carry out all tasks related to installing, assembling, servicing, and repairing Aerzen products. You will provide customers with prompt, professional, and high-quality service. Work is performed at our location and/or at our customer’s location. Services provided may be scheduled or on-demand. Overnight travel on short notice is often required.
- Performs startups, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and/or preventive maintenance service on all Aerzen Products at customer sites; represent Aerzen professionally and courteously, following all safety requirements.
- Installing, configuring, calibrating, and maintaining control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital); installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic, and fluid connections; understanding control narratives and analyzing/troubleshooting process application issues.
- Analyzing and correcting communication issues; addressing TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications properly.
- Performing repairs and assembly on Aerzen Products; disassembling, assessing damage, evaluating failures; diagnosing problems by evaluating material condition and customer input; offering machine-based recommendations; identifying root causes; utilizing procedures and rebuild kits.
- Reading and using equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other documentation for service, assembly, and repairs.
- Communicating with customers about job requirements, providing recommendations, listening to concerns, and providing status updates.
- Evaluating customer future needs and communicating through appropriate channels.
- Assisting engineering in plant design, modifications, and hazard analysis.
- Planning and scheduling travel efficiently using the Concur booking tool.
- Completing service reports, expense reports, and data collection in a timely manner; making commissioning graphs using company software.
- Documenting repairs with written reports, including cause of failure, work performed, materials used, and equipment condition.
- Conducting customer training on Aerzen Products onsite.
- Performing all work according to quality standards and safety procedures, maintaining a clean work area.
- Participating in departmental initiatives such as inventory counts, shop organization, and cleanup.

Requirements:
- Education: An Associate's Degree (2 years schooling) in electronics technology or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1-4 years of Field Service Experience with rotary equipment such as compressors, pumps, or similar, with electrical experience, preferably with VFDs and controls.
- Certification(s): N/A
- Technology Skills: Windows, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Internet abilities; TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications; Allen Bradley PLC experience; willingness to learn other software systems.
- Other Skills: RS Logix 5000 experience; PLC or Ladder-Logic programming; interpreting process flow, control wiring, piping, and instrumentation diagrams; welding skills (brazing, cutting, welding, plasma) a plus.
