Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate, and perform job activities aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Take initiative and fulfill duties according to Kodiak procedures.
- Act as an informal mentor and leader in the area.
- Troubleshoot complex repairs, major equipment overhauls, and operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
- Participate in all HSE-related activities, demonstrating expert knowledge of HSE procedures and policies.
- Serve as a safety role model and expert.
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Ensure a guaranteed 98% or better mechanical availability of equipment through corrective actions.
- Provide input to the Area Manager on personnel and budget planning.
- Analyze job parts and inventory to communicate effectively with Supply Chain for optimal performance.
- Maintain assigned units in a clean and presentable condition.
- Complete required reports and actions per operating procedures/policies.
- Provide 24/7 coverage, including overtime and on-call rotations, including work after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Backfill lead as necessary and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: OEM, Trade School, and/or 5+ years of comparable experience in a related field/industry.
- Successful completion of Kodiak's SSE program plus at least 3 years in an intermediate Field Technician role.
- Deep knowledge of gas processes and motor compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.) with 5+ years of related experience.
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong competencies in teamwork, communication, analytical thinking, mechanical aptitude, self-motivation, initiative, planning, problem-solving, and customer focus.
- Complete knowledge of compressor packages and systems.
- Expertise in HSE procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable MVR.
- Certifications: CAT, Waukesha, Ariel preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Physical Demands
- Operate heavy equipment and stand for 75% of the time.
- Sit for 25% of the time.
- Climb ladders/stairs, maintain balance, and work in various environments including confined spaces.
- Communicate effectively in person and via phone, including use of mobile devices.
- Frequently lift at least 10 pounds; infrequent lifting over 50 lbs.
- Work in high noise environments with PPE, potential exposure to chemicals, and outdoor conditions.
- Move and position self for various tasks.
