Field Service Technician Senior - Rotator

Job Description

Performs maintenance and repair activities on gas compression and/or process equipment at customer's location as directed. Acts as a technical resource for more complex issues in assigned area.

• Maintains a safe and well-organized work environment and models all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM) to standard with no help.
• Performs most Call-Outs (CO) without assistance from a technical expert. Diagnoses and repairs mechanical problems on multiple types of equipment including compressor packages, gas process and power generation equipment used within the region.
• Leads a team performing Major Maintenance (MM), Overhaul and MOB / DEMOB projects to standard with limited to no assistance.
• Completes and submits the required documentation accurately and quickly.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned. All employees shall comply with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and local, statutory and/or regulatory requirements at all times.

Skills and Abilities

• Perform all essential duties with advanced diagnostic and repair skills.
• Lead a team on maintenance projects with minimal assistance.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Use computer skills, including vendor-specific programs and standard office applications.
• Respond to after-hours requests regularly on an on-call basis.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, and controls.
• Knowledge of new technologies and troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
• Ability to read performance curves and perform compressor calculations.

Minimum Education and Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Gas or diesel engine and compressor training preferred.

Minimum Experience

• At least 5 years of experience with natural gas engines and compressors.
• Successful and safe service experience.

Leadership

• Serve as a resource for mentoring and training.
• Occasionally lead a crew.

Physical Demands

• Must be fit for duty and meet medical requirements for PPE use.
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry at least 40 pounds for short distances.
• Extensive travel and work in inclement weather.

Problem Solving and Impact

• Resolve troubleshooting issues independently.
• Provide solutions to complex engine and compressor problems.
• Actions impact operational and financial results.
