Job summary

Mettler Toledo seeks a Field Service Technician to perform calibration and preventive maintenance on Retail weighing and wrapping equipment in the Denver area. You will work with mentors, assist with installations and repairs, and grow toward independent work.

You will travel up to 25%, handle paperwork on a laptop, and collaborate with internal teams while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. A valid license and HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; 5 years relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Field service or customer-facing experience preferred.
• 1–3 years electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
• Basic understanding of PC networking & software configuration.
• Ability to travel up to 25% and work overtime up to 25%.
• Willingness to work in hazards and wear protective equipment (PPE).
• Residence within service territory.

Responsibilities

• Perform PC networking & software configuration.
• Calibrations and preventive maintenance on Retail Weighing Equipment per METTLER TOLEDO procedures.
• Update and maintain service database data integrity.
• Assist Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team.
• Resolve first-line customer concerns and invoicing issues where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality policies.
• Complete paperwork daily via company laptop.
• Maintain professional relations with customers, sales, technicians and leaders.
• On-call rotation to support customer base.

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for performing calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) on weighing and wrapping equipment within the Retail Business, with the support of mentors and technical resources. You'll also assist on installations and repairs alongside experienced team members – a great opportunity to grow your skills on the path to independent work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform PC networking & software configuration
• Performs calibrations and preventative maintenance duties on our Retail Weighing Equipment, according to METTLER TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements.
• Actively updates and ensures data integrity of the service database.
• Assists and cooperates with Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team as necessary.
• Resolves first-line customer concerns and helps resolve invoicing issues when applicable.
• Ensures compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Accurately completes and submits all required paperwork on a daily basis as required via company issued Laptop PC in a professional manner
• Maintains a close professional relationship with external/internal customers, sales, technicians and leaders.
• Must comply with the Company Fleet policy. On-call rotation is required to support Mettler Toledo customer base.
• All other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

• A valid driver's license.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or 5 years relevant experience required.
• Customer facing or field service experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies including: basic understanding of PC networking & software configuration
• 1 - 3 years electro /mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a valid Weights & Measure license for assigned service area. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• The ability to travel overnight, which may be up to 10% on avg.; but could be as high as 25% depending on business needs; expectations are to travel primarily via the Company assigned vehicle, but may be required to travel by plane.
• Residence within the service territory.
• The ability to work overtime in the range of 10 - 15% on average, but may be as high as 25% in a given time period.
• Willingness to be exposed to hazards in the work site including, but not limited to, chemicals and solvents, vehicle traffic and machinery & moving parts; Exposure to dust, dirt, cold work environments, and fumes varies from work site to work site.
• Willingness to wear special protective equipment and clothing when required.

This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing permitted by law.
