Field Service Technician (Remote+Travel)

About The Job: The Field Service Technician provides 24/7 on-call field service, troubleshooting, and training at customer locations for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components such as decanters, high-speed separators, or heat exchangers. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, emergency and warranty repairs, managing travel costs, and ensuring reliable operation and optimal performance.

Location: Remote position based in Decatur, Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment on separators, decanters, and heat exchangers.
• Install, start up, and shut down equipment following safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Conduct trial test runs to verify performance and quality standards.
• Document services and parts used for invoicing.
• Advise operators and maintenance personnel on safe operating procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on customer equipment.
• Assist with technical troubleshooting and train customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with knowledge of separators, decanters, PLCs, processors, and mechanical/electrical systems.
• Strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
