Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Field Service Technician in Savannah, GA to troubleshoot electro-mechanical issues, install equipment, and perform unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance for contracted customers. You will document service activities, maintain tools and van, and comply with safety guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED with 1–3 years of mechanical/electrical experience, strong communication, and the ability to read schematics and manuals.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma/GED and/or one to three years mechanical and electrical experience in a similar environment or equivalent in college or vocational education.
• Aptitude for excellent people skills and verbal communication.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals; understand service and training materials.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment; able to operate personal hand tools safely.
• Strong customer relations, courtesy and clear communication at all organizational levels.
• Professional demeanor and ability to build customer relationships and deliver superior service.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems and analyze breakdowns on customer equipment.
• Provide professional customer service and promote goodwill.
• Analyze and determine corrective actions for service and repair needs.
• Perform repairs and scheduled maintenance per company procedures.
• Open/close work orders and document repairs; submit timely paperwork.
• Maintain van inventory, cleanliness, and safety; perform regular vehicle maintenance.
• Make modifications per specifications and maintain required personal tools.
• Follow customer safety guidelines during onsite repairs.
