Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services is seeking a Lease Compression Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting at customer sites in Texas. You’ll operate independently, inspect equipment, and document service findings while representing Cooper in the field.

This field-based role requires hands-on mechanical skills, a safety-minded approach, and the ability to travel extensively. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with CDL preferred for future advancement.

Qualifications

• You have 1–2 years of direct experience with natural gas compression equipment.
• You bring solid mechanical skills and hands-on repair experience.
• You hold a high school diploma or equivalent; CDL is preferred and encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on compression packages at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve basic mechanical issues in the field; escalate complex problems as needed.
• Monitor equipment condition and report status to customers and Cooper team.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE while working independently at client locations.
• Complete maintenance logs and service reports detailing work performed.
• Represent Cooper professionally on-site and build customer trust.
• Travel extensively to field locations and work in varying weather conditions.
