Job summary

USA Compression is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform maintenance and repair of natural gas compression equipment in an assigned territory. The role is 100% on-site, requires travel within the territory, and includes on-call rotations.

You will diagnose and fix issues to ensure uptime while upholding safety and quality standards. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Solid communication skills with field personnel and customers.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude with engines or rotating equipment experience.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and bulletins.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to work independently in outdoor, remote environments.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and bring own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on compression equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct engine overhauls, compressor rebuilds, and component replacements.
• Complete startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities safely.
• Monitor performance, identify abnormal trends, and document results.
• Maintain safety, environmental compliance, and paperwork daily.
• Serve as field contact for customers with professional communication.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, and engineering teams.
