Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is hiring a Field Service Technician to manage safe operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of natural gas compression equipment across an assigned territory. You will work independently in remote field environments, ensuring equipment uptime and high-quality service.

The role requires strong communication, ability to read manuals, and a valid driver’s license. 100% on-site travel within the territory with potential for overtime and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in engines, rotating equipment, or heavy machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently in outdoor, remote environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on natural gas compression equipment, including engines, compressors, coolers, and associated components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct engine overhauls, compressor rebuilds, and component replacements as needed.
• Complete startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities safely and efficiently.
• Submit accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
