Job summary

HIAB USA, Inc. is seeking a field service technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, and related equipment at customer sites.

Travel is 100% and you will follow manager's instructions, keep records, and participate in safety and training programs. The role requires a high school diploma, 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience, and a valid driver's license with a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• 1-year DOT Medical Card required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations.
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Own tools required.
• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
• This position requires 100% travel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot on equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders and Hoists as per Manager's instructions.
• Follow safety rules, practices and environmental requirements.
• Stay up to date with technical developments via internal service bulletins and courses.
• Respond to customer queries to maximize satisfaction and follow Hiab guidelines.
• Maintain records, documentation and submit daily reports as instructed.
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager.
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary.
• Maintain a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow Quality System rules.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager's instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders and Hoists in line with Manager's instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customer's queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction and follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation and submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for
