Job summary

Hiab USA is seeking a Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment on equipment at customer sites and Hiab locations.

You will build productive customer relationships, follow Best Practice, and travel 100% to sites nationwide. The role requires DOT medical card, a valid driver’s license, and strong diagnostic skills. We offer a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits to support your growth.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card.
• Valid Driver’s License required; no more than one moving violation in the last year, or two in two years.
• High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations experience.
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Own tools are required.
• This position requires 100% travel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and troubleshoot forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists per Manager’s instructions.
• Follow safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
• Stay up to date with technical developments and complete courses when instructed by District Service Manager.
• Respond to customer queries to maximize satisfaction and follow guidelines.
• Maintain records and submit daily reports as required.
• Identify sales opportunities and inform District Service Manager.
• Coach junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
• Represent Hiab professionally per Quality System.

Compensation Data

Salary ranges from $38.05-$44.25 per hour based on skills and experience.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager’s instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customer’s queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
• Valid Driver’s License is required

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations

• This position requires 100% travel
