Job summary

Ziegler CAT is hiring a Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain MineStar technology on CAT mining equipment. You will support customers from our Buhl location with a focus on reliability and uptime, working with MineStar modules such as Fleet, Edge, Terrain, Health, Detect and Command.

The role requires 3+ years of field experience, strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, and the ability to configure and diagnose MineStar systems.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in electrical, mechanical, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in technology, electronic, or equipment repair (field experience preferred).
• Experience with CAT mining equipment and MineStar, CAT Grade, or VisionLink preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers and supervisors.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and use diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair MineStar onboard products (Fleet, Edge, Terrain, Health, Detect, Command).
• Install MineStar technology systems on new and existing machines.
• Configure MineStar systems and integrations with customer networks.
• Collaborate with Technical Support to develop preventive maintenance and training programs.
• Exercise independent judgment to maintain safe operation of diverse equipment.
• Ensure safety, clean work environment, and timely communication of needs.

Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:* Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance* 15 days of PTO your first year, accrual starts day 1* 9 paid holidays* 401(k) plan with company contribution and match* HSA (Health Savings Account), Ziegler contributes up to $1000 tax-free each year* Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance, FSA & EAP* Paid Parental Leave & Funeral Leave* Fitness membership discount* Education Assistance* Safety Boot Reimbursement, PPE & Uniforms provided* Tool Insurance* Safe, clean and friendly work environment### **Responsibilities****:*** Performs troubleshooting and repair for all supported MineStar onboard products including (but not limited to): MineStar Fleet, Edge, Terrain, Health, Detect, and Command.* Performs field installations of any MineStar technology systems on both existing and new machines* Understand and perform configurations relating to MineStar technology systems and their interaction with customer networks* Works closely with Technical Support team to: develop and implement a preventive maintenance program related to MineStar products; assist with development of training program; and occasionally assist with technical training relating to MineStar solutions* Uses a high degree of independent judgment, and assumes responsibility for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex equipment and systems* Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards* Responds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed* Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs* Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory**Qualifications:*** 2-year technical college degree in electrical, mechanical, or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable experience* 3+ years of relevant experience in technology, electronic, or equipment repair, preferably some field experience* Strong interest in the technology and electronics field* Experience with CAT mining equipment; experience with CAT technology systems including MineStar, CAT Grade, or VisionLink preferred* Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems* Ability to write and communicate effectively, interact with supervisors, customers and team members* Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems* Own mechanic tool set* Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment including service truck* Willing and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by the supervisor* Able to operate equipment safely* Must have and maintain a clean driving record* Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical due to the role being deemed safety-sensitive* DOT Med card or ability to obtain is required* Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period### **Minimum Physical Requirements****:*** Push/pull up to 50 lbs* Lift/carry up to 60 lbs* Lift bulky objects* Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.* Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor.
