Job summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Field Service Technician – Manufacturing to support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of power distribution equipment at customer sites.

This 100% travel role requires frequent overnight stays and a strong electrical/mechanical background, with the ability to work independently in field environments and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent with electrical/mechanical experience.
• Hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Willingness to travel 100% including overnight stays.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong written communication and ability to document field findings.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, start-up, test, and commission equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently or with field team.
• Diagnose, repair, and configure electrical and electromechanical equipment.
• Interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, and specifications.
• Use electrical test equipment to diagnose and repair installed equipment.
• Document field reports with findings, repairs, and equipment conditions.
• Maintain safety documentation and compliance with policies.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Manufacturing teams.
