Job description

Field Service Technician Level II Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician II to join our team and serve our clients in the Central Ohio area!

The Field Service Technician Level II will perform all responsibilities of a Level 1 installer, with additional skills, training, certifications, and leadership abilities to lead installation teams effectively. The role includes configuring and programming various devices and management platforms, overseeing system commissioning, and providing basic customer training. This position is crucial for ensuring smooth installations and high customer satisfaction.

Field Service Technician Level II Responsibilities:

  1. Execute all Level I installer roles, following documentation to maintain high standards of installation and service.
  2. Handle project and service tickets efficiently, ensuring prompt updates and streamlined interactions.
  3. Understand project scopes and service expectations, taking full accountability for tasks and delivering excellent results.
  4. Lead by delegating tasks within the team, fostering collaboration and growth.
  5. Mentor Level 1 installers, uphold standards, and seek feedback for improvement.
  6. Maintain effective communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers, and customers to ensure seamless project execution.
  7. Work with nurse call systems, card access systems, and video surveillance products to contribute to project success.
  8. Pursue ongoing professional development, especially in leadership and communication skills.
  9. Perform Factory Authorized Testing (FAT) of products before installation to ensure quality and performance.
  10. Configure systems and oversee successful commissioning, providing reliable solutions to clients.
  11. Accept additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility in role responsibilities.

Field Service Technician Level II Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction trade.
  2. Advanced knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
  3. Hands-on/field experience from previous work.
  4. Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, networking, computers, VoIP).
  5. Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling.
  6. Knowledge of IT networking, configurations, and IP addressing.
  7. Ability to read architectural drawings.
  8. Experience in team management or supervision.
  9. Previous project completion within scope.
  10. Experience with service ticketing processes.
  11. Knowledge of fire, CCTV, intrusion, or emergency nurse call systems is a plus.
  12. Excellent communication skills.
  13. Valid US Driver’s license required.
