Field Service Technician IV - Night Shift

Role Summary

The Field Service Technician IV will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences at our service locations. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, excellent communication, a customer-first attitude, and a passion for adventure. You will collaborate daily with internal teams to support service needs, coordinate with Service, Vehicle, and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineers. This role requires a resourceful leader with excellent communication skills who fosters cross-functional teamwork and continuous improvement. Experience in automotive, process standardization, and managing escalations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow Rivian repair procedures efficiently, maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Perform complex diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
• Conduct vehicle repairs outside of a service center setting.
• Perform road tests to ensure repair quality.
• Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
• Stay updated with technical skills and training requirements.
• Support campaigns and containment initiatives.
• Maintain accurate expense reports.
• Work with high quality and efficiency with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Provide field service support to the Service organization.
• Communicate professionally in a customer-facing environment.
• Document repairs accurately and thoroughly.
• This role may transition from remote to on-site work at a nearby service center within 90 miles or 2 hours.
• Travel to support locations, including production plants, until local service centers open.
• Operate remotely if applicable until the service center opens.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED preferred.
• Automotive repair school graduation preferred.
• Leadership, mentorship, and influencing experience preferred.
• 5+ years automotive experience preferred.
• 3+ years working on high voltage systems and diagnostics preferred.
• Proficient with Windows or Mac computers.
• Experience with test tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, Kavaser, etc.)
• Extensive diagnosis and repair experience.
• Ability to drive trucks and trailers preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Parts department and billing experience preferred.
• Experience with work order management systems.
• Start-up environment experience preferred.
• Positive attitude in challenging situations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physical ability to perform tasks up to 50 lbs.
• Fluent English reading and speaking skills.
• Legal minimum age of 21.
• Availability for 40 hours/week, including weekends and holidays, with flexible shifts.
