Job summary

Equipment Depot, Inc. seeks a Field Service Technician in Rockford, IL to diagnose and repair electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks and equipment. You will read orders, diagnose issues, and perform repairs after inspection, while maintaining accurate service documentation.

The role requires a GED or high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and basic computer skills. You will interact with customers, schedule maintenance, and ensure safety compliance on-site and during service

Qualifications

GED or high school diploma required.
1–3 months related experience and/or training.
Knowledge of internet software is required.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and instructions.
Ability to write routine reports and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

Reads work orders and observes truck operation to diagnose malfunctions.
Offers solutions and provides estimates when appropriate.
Makes mechanical repairs after inspection and analysis of breakdown.
Records repair descriptions, model, serial number, and hour meter readings.
Obtains customer signatures and communicates repair needs or completions.
Inspects guards, bolts, and safety devices and makes adjustments.
Lubricates moving parts and verifies repair conformance by driving the unit.
Represents Equipment Depot to customers and maintains professional appearance of the van.
Tracks and coordinates with operations on routine maintenance and service issues.
Returns paperwork daily; submits time cards by 9:00 a.m. if dispatched from home.
