New Era Technology, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial cooling and electro-mechanical systems at customer sites in San Jose, CA.

The role requires reading electrical diagrams, repairing electrical and mechanical components, and traveling to client locations. You’ll work independently in the field, with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience repairing or maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, HVAC systems, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, compressors, pumps, generators, or similar machinery.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Experience working on 200-440V electrical equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable replacing electrical and mechanical components.
• Able to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install, start up, and service cooling equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
• Replace faulty parts such as motors, sensors, relays, switches, actuators, and other components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Read electrical wiring diagrams and basic technical drawings.
• Test equipment and verify proper operation after repairs.
• Complete service reports after each visit.
• Provide professional customer service while working onsite.
• Travel to customer locations when needed.

What We're Looking For

Education

A technical degree, trade school, military training, or vocational training is preferredbut not required.

Candidates with strong hands‑on experience are encouraged to apply even without a college degree.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, bend, kneel, and work at customer locations.
• Travel up to 20% as needed.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Typically, Monday‑Friday, 8‑hour shifts.
• Occasional overtime and on‑call support may be required.
