Field Service Technician III - IV (Maintenance)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all technical areas of Field Services customer support. Provide technical and mechanical services support to internal and external customers in settings such as workshops, compressor stations, and process plants. The role includes expertise in:

- Performing engine and compressor diagnostics and interpreting data
- Presenting results professionally to customers
- Level IV includes Advanced Technicians, Instrument Technicians, Diagnostic Technicians / Product Specialists with ≥ 15 years of experience, trained as SMEs
- Commissioning Specialists with expertise in compressor drivers, process piping, valves, skid construction, controls, and customer communication
- Familiarity with GE Startup & Commissioning Standards and operational ability of the package
- Travel 200-300 days per year, up to 14 weeks at a time
- Extended working hours, up to 10-14 hours per day, including weekends and holidays
- Physical requirements include ladders, confined spaces, lifting 40-50 pounds, outdoor work, and sharing vehicles at customer sites
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Reciprocating Compression
- Meets all sublevel requirements (FS Technician I, II & III)
- Attributes: Safety-focused, Service-oriented, Business-focused, Self-starter, Dependable, Mature, Organized, Results-oriented, Excellent communication skills
- Education: Associates Degree in a technical field (Bachelor's preferred) or equivalent experience, plus formal technical training
- Completion of Reciprocating Compression Systems product training
- Mastery of core competencies, advanced tooling, engine and compressor theory, OEM and non-OEM products
- Product knowledge of brands like Cooper Bessemer, Ajax, Superior, Gemini, Clark, Waukesha, Dresser, Caterpillar
- Proficiency in math, computer skills (Word & Excel), and understanding of engineering standards and documentation
- Advanced leadership skills and technical mastery in engine balancing and web deflection/alignment
