Job summary

TDS Telecom is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain telecommunications equipment at customer sites in Arizona. You will directly engage customers, identify needs, and promote TDS products and services while ensuring high-quality service delivery.

The role requires travel within the Arizona market, including overnight stays, and a 60-minute radius from the Happy Jack warehouse. A valid driver's license is mandatory, and a $2,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must follow attendance guidelines to meet TDS's business needs.
• Requires background check per customer requirements.
• Available for on-call/standby and occasional travel.
• Must pass Safety Course curriculum.
• Must comply with DOT requirements for operating vehicles over 10,000 lbs.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Demonstrated customer service and sales skills and strong communication.
• Knowledge of telecommunication products and services.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, test, splice, repair and maintain telecom equipment at customer sites.
• Identify defective cables using test equipment and locate facilities.
• Pole climbing and operating construction equipment as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and proactively sell TDS products and services.
• Gain knowledge of standards and grounding for outside plant facilities.
