Job summary

Mimaki Usa Inc. in California is seeking a Field Service Technician (Level II) to install, service, and repair Mimaki printing equipment at client sites, with a focus on troubleshooting complex issues and providing on-site training.

This role requires 4–7 years of experience, up to 75% travel, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while documenting service actions, parts used, and labor hours for accurate reports.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, engineering technology, computer technology, networking, or computer science).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and flow diagrams.
• Foundational understanding of AC/DC power.
• Knowledge and use of DVMs (Digital Volt Meters), and common service tools.
• Working knowledge of RIP software solutions (ONYX, Wasatch Soft RIP, Caldera, SAI Flexi, Cadlink Digital Factory, Fiery, Rasterlink).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and documenting work.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites for service and repairs (up to 75%).
• Install and perform preventive maintenance on complex equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
• Replace parts at assembly and component level.
• Maintain accurate service reports detailing problem ID, actions taken, parts used, and hours.
